In October of 1986, Morgex Insurance commenced operations as an insurance broker in the province of Alberta. It has been quite a journey, from the early days of managing a portfolio of just over two million dollars which included the Alberta Teachers' Association to today, where Morgex is now the largest personal lines insurance broker in Alberta.

Right from the start, Morgex has strived to be one of the most recognizable names in the industry with a philosophy developed by one of its founding partners, Terry Bradley.

Wishing to be different from other insurance brokers, Morgex introduced marketing, media and sales strategies that were unconventional and unique to the marketplace and thus the name Morgex became synonymous with insurance. In being innovative Morgex seized the opportunity to insure hole - in - ones on the golf course and now transacts business in this area as well as prize promotions. From this venture and wanting to give something back to the community, Terry introduced a fundraising promotion whereas Morgex gave each participant a chance to win prizes such as vehicle for a small donation to sponsored charity as well as providing refreshments. This year, we attended over 80 golf events in addition to donating hole in one polices to another 238 tournaments raising in excess of $100,000.

Our staff is very supportive in assisting charitable organizations such as: the Stollery Foundation, Cancer Society (Jail N Bail), Heart and Stroke Society, Christmas Bureau to name a few (list of charities provided on hole in one website portion). Morgex Insurance is proud to be an active partner in the community and is constantly trying to build and develop added value products and services to assist both present and potential clients better.

Effective September 30, 2005 the assets and business of Morgex Insurance Group Ltd. were acquired by the national insurance agency Johnson Inc. (www.johnson.ca). The business will continue to be operated as a separate division under the trade name "Morgex Insurance."
